Brenda Aguilar, LICSW Regional Bereavement Specialist of the Journey Program, Seattle Children’s Bereavement Program Brenda Aguilar is a bicultural bilingual Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and an active practitioner of cultural humility. She is a first generation professional, raised by hard working immigrant parents and her extended Latine community. Brenda is the Regional Clinical Bereavement Specialist at Seattle Children’s Journey Program focused on developing grief and bereavement support to families outside of the Seattle city limits, Latina/e/o and Spanish speaking individuals, couples, families, siblings, children who have experienced the loss of a child, sibling, or parent (if child under age 18). Motivated, dedicated, and passionate about developing culturally responsive social and mental health services. Promoting continuity of care and services using culturally and linguistically appropriate methods. Her personal social work practice is strengths-based, values-informed, and trauma informed while using a culturally sensitive approach. Her intention is to live a life with purpose; caring, learning, mentoring, and believing that each of us is filled with unique gifts to share with the world.
